Joramco, the Amman based MRO and the engineering arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), has brought exciting news and an amazing opportunity to Jordanian students interested in aircraft maintenance with the introduction of the Joramco Academy scholarship.

The scholarship has been made possible, thanks to the Dubai Aerospace Enterprise which has invested over $15 Million in the last 2 years to grow the business into a multi-million dollar profitable success story across the globe, becoming the Middle East’s largest independent MRO. In recognition of the success, DAE is supporting the CEO initiative, as part of its CSR activities, to give back to the community through the scholarship which will provide opportunities in line with the vision of His Majesty King Abdulla II to support the youth and create jobs through vocational training opportunities.

The youth of Jordan are facing high unemployment rates, with last year’s figure reaching 19 percent according to a report issued by the Department of Statistics (DoS). In this time of uncertainty, Joramco is proud to offer their scholarship which will cover the full cost of the aircraft maintenance training program for 25 selected students and guarantee employment with Joramco.

CEO of Joramco, Jeff Wilkinson, said, “Joramco has always been committed to excellence, employing the best and brightest to provide the highest quality services for our customers, but with the current economic situation there is a risk that some of the top minds may never get the opportunity to attend training programs or work in the field they excel in. Through the scholarship at Joramco Academy, students will not only be able to master skills in a lucrative profession under expert guidance, they can rest assured in the knowledge that after they complete the program, they will be guaranteed a career at Joramco.

Through the scholarship, Joramco will be actively contributing to the support of the country’s economy through the development of the private sector, according to the directives laid down by His Majesty King Abdullah II. The aim of the scholarship will be to open the door for students to learn and master new skills to secure a bright and promising future in their ideal field, ultimately lowering the unemployment rate and therefore ease the burden on the country’s citizens.

Joramco will host an Open Day event, held under the patronage of the Minister of Labor, Nidal Bataineh, where all students interested in the scholarship can get more details about the program and apply for their chance at this life-changing opportunity. The Open Day will take place on Monday, February 17, 2020, from 9:00 am-4:00 pm in the Amman Hall in Al Hussein Youth City.

With more than 50 years of experience, Joramco has built a sound track record as a leading independent commercial aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility serving a wide range of customers in the; Middle East, Europe, South Asia, Africa, Russia and the CIS countries, offering services on several aircraft models from the Airbus, Boeing, and Embraer fleets.
