The building that the Downtown Amman major fire engulfed on the dawn of Thursday, February 6, is owned by the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), a worker at the building said.

He explained that the building has shops for second-hand furniture and an office owned for GAM with 10 employees.

The fire has engulfed a number of warehouses in the building.

The Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) firefighters used special equipment to put out the blaze.

A large number of people in the area also joined firefighters in extinguishing the fire.

No human injuries were reported. However, the fire caused some material damage.
