Head of Al-Bashir Hospital, Dr. Mahmoud Zureiqat revealed that 73 people were quarantined, in order to ensure that they are not infected with the novel coronavirus.

He explained in a statement to Roya that among the quarantined people are 17 of different foreign nationalities.

He pointed out that 71 of the 73 people returned from the Chinese city of Wuhan, the outbreak's epicenter, confirming that they didn't show any symptoms of the virus.

The quarantined people will be allowed to leave the Hospital after accurate laboratory results are issued.

A Jordanian citizen and a Chinese national are currently receiving treatment, as they showed symptoms of the seasonal flu, Zureiqat said, confirming that they are not infected with the coronavirus.

He noted that the two patients had arrived in Jordan through the Jordan-Saudi Arabia Al Mudawara Border Crossing, as they were found to have fever, after which they were quarantined.
