The latest weather depression that affected the Kingdom between January 19 and January 22, has supplied Jordan’s dams with 10 million cubic meters (mcm) of water, according to the Minister of Water and Irrigation, Ra’ed Abu Al-Saud.

“The amount of rain that the Kingdom witnessed since the beginning of this winter season reached 52 mcm, increasing the dams’ storage capacity to 130 mcm, or 38 percent of their total capacity," Saud added.

The minister clarified that the country's cumulative precipitation rate since the beginning of the season soared to 6 billion cubic meters, representing around 73% meters of the long-term annual average of rainfall, which is estimated at 8.1 billion cubic meters.
