Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held talks on Monday, January 6, 2020, on further enhancing the strategic, historical relations between the two countries and developments in the region.

During their encounter ahead of a meeting in Riyadh of the countries bordering the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, the ministers stressed the common will to promote cooperation and strengthen the brotherly relations under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

They also discussed the situation in the region and stressed the need to intensify efforts to overcome regional crises, de-escalate tension and build regional relations based on good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries.

Safadi said that "Jordan stands firmly beside the brothers in Saudi Arabia in all the steps they take to protect their security and stability," reiterating His Majesty King Abdullah's assertion that Saudi Arabia’s security and Jordan’s security is one, thanking Riyadh for its support.
