Roya cameras captured a video showing a manhole overflowing with water in Downtown Amman due to torrential rainfall that the Kingdom is witnessing, while the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) had earlier announced its readiness to deal with the weather depression affecting the Kingdom.

GAM had also declared a medium state of emergency, confirming that it has received several complaints about water bodies in several areas of Amman.

However, GAM cadres work on cleaning up rainwater drainage networks affected by soil erosion.

The impact of the cold air mass that is affecting the Kingdom is expected to deepen in the next couple of hours, as more cold air flows will come from eastern Europe towards the eastern Mediterranean and the Kingdom, according to Arabia Weather.

According to weather updates, heavy rainfall is predicted in the next few hours with thunder, lightning, heavy hail showers and strong winds over the northern and central regions of the Kingdom as well as some parts of the southern highlands.

Rainfall and hail showers are predicted to last until early Friday and Friday afternoon, as the weather will be cold, rainy and stormy.

Arabia weather has warned of flash floods in the valleys and lowlands and the risk of low visibility over the highlands due to fog.
