The public prosecutor in Zarqa has decided to detain a school student's parent for a week after she has physically assaulted a mentor at the Badr Al-Kubra School for girls, according to a statement issued by the Zarqa Teachers Syndicate.

The statement explained that the mentor asked a student to bring her father to the school. However, the student's mother was the one who went there.

A dispute arose between the mentor and the student's mother, where the latter physically and verbally assaulted the former.

The Teachers Syndicate condemned this act, considering that it undermines the respect of the teacher.

The Syndicate confirmed that it will appoint a lawyer to follow up on the case.
