His Majesty King Abdullah returned to Jordan on Friday after a working visit to Canada and the United States.
In Canada, King Abdullah held talks with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, covering bilateral ties and regional developments.
In the United States, His Majesty received the 2019 Scholar-Statesman Award in New York, from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP), in recognition of his leadership and commitment to advancing peace, stability, harmony and tolerance in the Middle East.
At the 2019 Scholar-Statesman Award Dinner, the King participated in a conversation with WINEP Executive Director Robert Satloff, during which His Majesty discussed developments in the Middle East, the threat of terrorism and extremism, and efforts to achieve peace.
While in New York, the King also met with United Nations Secretary General António Guterres to review regional developments and efforts to pursue peace and stability in the region.
