During a legislative session held this morning, a number of MPs have covered one of their eyes with a hand in solidarity with the Palestinian photojournalist Moath Amarneh.

MP Khalil Attieh asked the other MPs to do so and they all accepted.

Amarneh lost his eye after being badly injured by a metallic bullet fired by an Israeli soldier in the Surif region of the Hebron governorate, where he was covering a protest against land confiscation.

A number of Palestinian activists and journalists had earlier launched an online campaign attached with hashtag #We_are_Moath.

The campaign aims to shed light on Israeli violations against journalists such as in creating obstacles for them while covering news on events related to Israeli escalations against the Palestinians.
