The government is expected to announce Saturday, November 9, 2019, as a public holiday on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad's birthday.

The government is expected to announce the holiday, which will allow most employees in the public sector to have the day off.

In an official statement issued today, Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz stressed that it is necessary to revive this occasion.

Meanwhile, the private sector can choose between giving their employees the day off or treating it as a normal working day.

Prophet Muhammad was born in the year 570 A.D. in Mecca, in the Arabian Peninsula, part of modern day Saudi Arabia.

Last year on November 30, the government announced a public holiday on this occasion.
