The Egyptian authorities released Ashraf Omari, a Jordanian citizen who was detained Friday afternoon, September 27, 2019, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Saturday, September 28, 2019.

Qudah stated that the Jordanian Embassy in Cairo exerted its utmost efforts and contacted the Egyptian side regarding Omari's release since the moment he was detained. 

The citizen arrived at the Jordanian Embassy's building at 1:00 am on Saturday and was welcomed by his family and the Jordanian consul. 

Qudah thanked the Egyptian authorities for their swift response to the Embassy's request.
