The first commercial direct charter flight from Seoul to Amman arrived at Queen Alia International Airport on Friday. This flight, operated by KAL (Korean Airline), is the first of three rounds of charter flights this year carrying around 200 passengers each. The other two flights will arrive in Amman on 2 and 7 October respectively.

Recently, Jordan is getting better known to Korean people for its lots of tourist attractions. Korean tourists, through this flight, will go to see natural splendors in Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea. They will also visit historic religious sites such as Jerash, Mt. Nebo, Madaba, Baptism site, and etc.

South Korean Ambassador in Amman, HE Mr. Lee Jae-wan, said that "this marks the beginning of a new era of tourism between Jordan and Korea." He hoped that "more charter flights will be arranged to pave the way for regular direct flights between Amman and Seoul in the near future." He also said that “he will take all measures to ensure the safety of Korean tourists during their stay in Jordan, in close cooperation with the relevant Jordanian authorities."
