His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein arrived in Jordan on Thursday, September 26, 2019, after a working visit to New York.

During his visit, His Majesty headed Jordan's delegation at the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During his speech at the session, His Majesty confirmed that the "The two-state solution is the only genuine solution to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and to achieve stability, security, and peace in the region in accord with international law and UN resolutions.

"As Hashemite Custodian, I am bound by a special duty to protect Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites. But all of us have a stake and a moral obligation to uphold religious freedom and human rights. So let us safeguard the Holy City for all humanity, as a unifying city of peace," King Abdullah had also said during his speech.

As part of his visit to New York, His Majesty King Abdullah, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, and Iraqi President Barham Salih held a trilateral summit that focused on the importance of bolstering coordination among the three countries.

King had also attended the opening session of the Leaders Dialogue: Strategic Responses to Terrorist and Violent Extremist Narratives, organized by Jordan in cooperation with the UN, France, and New Zealand.

"Almost as fast as the Internet and other technologies evolve, these forces of hatred find ways to abuse them: recruiting the vulnerable; trafficking weapons and illegal goods; planning and directing terrorist actions; and publicizing atrocities that have shocked the human conscience, worldwide," His Majesty made his remarks during the opening session.

US cable TV news network MSNBC, which is owned by NBCUniversal, had conducted an interview with His Majesty King Abdullah II in New York, where he had also confirmed that the two-state solution is the only mean of ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, warning that a one-state solution means an apartheid future for Israel, which would be catastrophic.

During the interview, His Majesty touched on a number of regional issues, stressing Jordan's support for Saudi Arabia following the recent attacks on Aramco's oil facilities.

King Abdullah had also held a series of meetings with leaders and presidents of Arab countries on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.
