In a step seen as defiant of Israeli plans to annex the Jordan Valley and the Israeli government holding its meeting yesterday in the occupied Jordan Valley, the Palestinian government decided to hold its weekly meeting today in the village of Fasayel in the northern Jordan Valley, according to the Palestinian government's spokesman, Ibrahim Milhem.

Milhem said the meeting will be held at noon in Fasayel as part of the government cluster development strategy with a goal to support the steadfastness of farmers and residents in facing the Israeli threats aimed at annexing parts of the occupied West Bank.

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu declared last week that he intends to annex Israeli illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories and to impose Israeli sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and the northern Dead Sea after he wins the elections, scheduled for tomorrow.

His remarks have caused a world-wide uproar and condemnation.
