A father has chained up his 13-year-old son inside his house in Zarqa governorate, media spokesman for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said on Sunday, September 8, 2019.

After the Family Protection Department in Zarqa received a report of the incident, members of the Preventive Security Department and the Zarqa Police Directorate have headed to the house to verify the report received.

The child's legs were found chained up, after which he was transferred to the Family Protection Department along with his father, the media spokesman added.

An investigation into the incident was launched, where the necessary actions will be taken in order to protect the child and ensure that he will not suffer any harm in the future.
