The Jordanian Teachers Syndicate has confirmed that teachers in all public schools in the Kingdom will begin a mass strike as of tomorrow, Sunday, September 8, 2019, until their demands are met.

Media spokesman for the Syndicate, Nour Al-Deen Nadeem told Roya that the decision was taken by the heads of all branches of the Syndicate in the Kingdom unanimously, stressing that it will be an open-ended strike.

Members of the Syndicate and government representatives have also held a meeting today that resulted in nothing.

In a post on its Facebook official page, the Syndicate said, "A meeting between the Syndicate's council and government representatives has just ended without any results. The Syndicate confirms that the door for dialogue is still open."

The open-ended strike follows protests that took place on Thursday, September 5, 2019, that teachers organized for a basic demand of a 50% raise.
