The Palestinian leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Azzam Al Ahmad, warned of the repercussions of statements issued by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the imposition of "Jewish sovereignty" on West Bank settlements.

Netanyahu said in a statement, "We will impose Jewish sovereignty on all settlements as part of the State of Israel."

"There will be no more uprooting. We will apply Jewish sovereignty to all communities as part of the Land and state of Israel," Netanyahu continued.

However, Al Ahmad described Netanyahu's statements as "rude," confirming that they were made with the support of the US President, Donald Trump's administration.

Ahmad emphasized that the statement is very dangerous, showing the real intention of Netanyahu’s government for the future of the West Bank.

The settlements were centered in the West Bank and Jerusalem, which means that any proposals for political solutions to the Palestinian cause will be destroyed, Al Ahmad noted.

"These statements will provoke Palestinians," he stated, stressing that the resistance movement has increased in Palestine after proposals of the "Deal of the Century" were made by Washington.

"This provocation may cause a loss of control of the situation in Jerusalem and the West Bank," Al Ahmad explained.
