The House of Representatives approved on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, a bill amending the Judicial Independence Law of 2017.
The House exempted Article 11 of the draft law on the Judges' Club from the amendments, as it rejected the amendments of the Legal Committee.
Following the amendments, the House abolished the authorization granted to the Judicial Council through laying off any judge if the period of service required to refer him to deposition or retirement was not completed.
