The Board of Commissioners of Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) decided to exempt all Jordanians from entry fees to the ancient city of Petra during Eid Al Adha holiday and the couple of days after the holiday, as of Sunday, August 11, until August 18.

During a meeting held on Thursday, August 8, 2019, Head of the PDTRA, Suleiman Farajat, said that this decision was taken to attract Jordanian tourists to visit the city of Petra and enjoy its antiquities.

"The exemption from the fees includes entry to Petra, use of tourist and health facilities, and a visit to the new Petra Museum.

Tourists can also enjoy folkloric and artistic performances.

Entrance to the city during the Eid holiday will be from 6 am to 6 pm, while entry to the Petra Museum will be from 8:30 am to 10:00 pm.

All hotels and restaurants in the city will be making promotional offers during the Eid holiday.
