Tunisia's President Beji Caid Essebsi has died at the age of 92, following a number of health scares, Arab and Tunisian media outlets reported.

His family had earlier said that he has been readmitted to the hospital after suffering a second health scare in a month.

Essebsi was reportedly suffering from the effects of his previous health scare, which saw him spend a week in hospital in late June over a "severe health crisis."
