In conjunction with the back-to-school shopping season, the local marketplace is now full of backpacks and school supplies.

However, this season, backpacks painted with the Jordanian red shemagh and the Palestinian hattah invaded the local market.

The photos of the backpacks which circulated on social media platforms raised angry reactions among people, as some of them said these backpacks would promote discrimination between Jordanians and Palestinians.

Some people called on preventing the selling of these backpacks, while others considered it normal.

Local media reported that the administration of a school in Karak governorate announced that students are prevented from wearing them.

"We are all of one homeland. The Jordanian-Palestinian unity will last forever. The Arab unity will also last forever," Head of the school said.
