A Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz endorsed on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, an amended draft law on education and scientific research and Jordanian universities law for the year 2019.

The proposed amendments deal with issues related to university governance, control of the teaching process and the facilitation of boards of trustees and higher education functions.

One of the proposed amendments is canceling out-of-campus teaching and liaison offices, mechanisms to terminate services of chairmen and board members, and a mechanism for dealing with faculty members who are over 70 years of age.

The Cabinet also decided to approve an amended draft law of the Civil Procedure Law of 2019, which would review the procedures related to judicial reporting, which impede litigation.

It has also approved on the administrative organization system of the Social Security Corporation (SSC) for the year 2019, which aims at establishing an organizational structure that would form the functions of the SSC.
