A Jordanian truck driver died on Monday, July 8, 2019, after he was run over on the Kuwaiti-Saudi border (Al-Salmi port), spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Sufian Qudah said.

The driver was in a critical health condition when he was transferred to a hospital by a helicopter on Sunday, but he died this morning.

Qudah said that Jordan's Ambassador to Kuwait, Saqer Abu Shattal has been following up on the incident, adding that the ambassador visited the citizen in the hospital yesterday evening, but medical reports indicated he was in a very critical condition.

"The Jordanian Embassy, along with the Kuwaiti authorities, are investigating the incident," he added, emphasizing that the culprit has been arrested.

Qudah noted that the Ministry's Operations Center is coordinating with the consulate in Kuwait to transfer the body of the deceased to the Kingdom at the request of his family.
