The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates was following up on detaining a Jordanian citizen in Tel Aviv by the Israeli forces after he was caught crossing the southern borders with Israel, the Ministry's spokesman, Sufian Qudah said in a statement.
Qudah explained that the Ministry and the Jordanian embassy in Tel Aviv was following up with the Israeli authorities on the incident to find out all the details and the circumstances of the detention and the procedures of the investigation carried out by the occupation authorities.
However, in another statement, Qudah said that the Jordanian authorities have received the detained Jordanian citizen.
He added that the citizen was released as a result of continuous effort and follow-up by the ministry, the concerned authorities and the Jordanian Embassy in Tel Aviv.
It was found that the citizen crossed the borders by mistake after he lost his way.
