The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Commissioner-General, Pierre Krineball said that 42 countries have supported and increased their support for UNRWA last year after the Agency faced a threat to its existence.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, June 17, 2019, Krineball explained that the Agency had asked donors to maintain their financial and political contributions.

He noted that the United States has taken its decision to stop all its contributions and even the $ 60 million paid last year, adding that the Agency began to feel the risk of lack of funding and the possibility of providing all its services.

Krineball revealed that one billion and 200 million dollars are the size of UNRWA's budget required for next year, the same number requested by UNRWA last year.
