Jordanian Foreign Ministry denounces 'terrorist attack' in Iraq

Jordanian Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs condemned car bomb explosion that killed five people and injured eight others in the Rabia district of Nineveh Province in Iraq on Sunday, May 26, 2019.

The bomb-laden car was parked near a market in the settlement of Oweinat when it exploded.

The attack followed a string of recent attacks across northern Iraq claimed by the Islamic State group (ISIS).

Spokesman for the Ministry, Sufian Qudah reiterated Jordan's solidarity with the brotherly Iraqi government and people in the fight against terrorism and mindless violence aimed at undermining Iraq's security and stability.

Qudah also affirmed Jordan's firm stance that rejects the various forms of violence and terrorism which target everyone without any discrimination between religion or race.

Qudah expressed his deepest condolences to the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
