Former MP Hind Al-Fayez commented on the sentence issued by the Amman Court to imprison her for one year.

Al-Fayez told Roya that she had not been officially informed of the decision and that she had heard of the news of the court's decision through posts published on social media platforms and online news websites.

"The decision is appealable and an appeal will be submitted within the legal period," Lawyer Rami Ayayda told Roya.

The Court has earlier issued a bench warrant, in absentia, against Al-Fayez, sentencing her to one year in prison for issuing a cheque without account balance after the council of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) filed a lawsuit against her.
