The Jordanian Minister of Health Saad Jaber, visited on Monday, May 13, 2019, the Environmental Health Department to check on the work of its various departments and to check on the procedures followed in the protection and supervision of drinking water of all types.

Minister Jaber stressed that drinking water that reaches to citizens through water supply pipes are of high-quality standards that match the specific standards of drinking water in developed countries.

Jaber pointed to the vital role of the Department in achieving the highest level of health care in the field of environmental sanitation.

Jaber also stressed on the need to intensify control over the water resources, water system, sewage drainage systems, factories and water stations, environmental control and chemical safety in order to preserve the environment and the health and safety of citizens.

Director of the Department, Salah Hyari, presented the work of the Department, its functions, procedures and its various departments, and stressed on the Department's participation in the legislative drafting, review and updating.

Hyari also emphasized that the Department plays a role in the development of health and environmental requirements for the development projects related to environmental health and the functions of the Department.
