The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, sent on Monday, May 6, 2019, a message congratulating all Muslims in Canada and around the world on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Trudeau said in a statement that, "Ramadan shows the Islamic values, like compassion and service to others. It reminds us to give generously, and put the needs of others before our own."

"We will always stand together against Islamophobia and hatred in all its forms, and will work to make sure that the values of openness, diversity, and freedom of religion are protected," he added, noting that each day, Muslim Canadians help build a better Canada.

To conclude his statement, the PM congratulated the Muslim community in Arabic, saying "Ramadan Mubarak."
