His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II spent Tuesday afternoon in Umm Qais, one of the most important tourist destinations in the Kingdom, in the north of Irbid governorate.

Crown Prince stressed the importance of Jordan's tourism diversity and the need to benefit from it in promoting domestic tourism and in attracting more Arab and foreign tourists, especially as the Jordanian tourism sector is essential for the national economy and because it has an impact on the development and improvement of local communities.

In terms of His Highness's keenness to encourage self-employment, Crown Prince was introduced to two successful self-employment experiences, the first of which was shared by the tour guide Alaa Al-Aksh, who accompanied His Highness during his tour of Um Qais.

Al-Akash began his career as a tour guide after he retired from military service and later completed his work in the tourism field.

The second experience was shared by Om Mohammad, who provides accommodation and dining services in her home to tourists of Umm Qais. Through this, she introduces tourists to the Jordanian culture and its diversity.

His Highness had lunch at Om Mohammad's house, who prepares meals in cooperation with licensed associations.

Om Mohammed is one of several families in the region, who provide services to tourists.

Along with young people from the area, His Highness rode bicycles on a tour of Umm Qais, overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Sea of Galilee.
