Minister of Agriculture and Environment Ibrahim al-Shahahdeh and his Lebanese counterpart Hassan al-Lakkis Saturday discussed ways to boost agricultural ties and to increase the volume of fresh produce trade to the levels before the conflict in Syria.

During their meeting, the two ministers stressed the importance of enhancing produce exports, developing economic conditions for farmers in both countries, removing barriers to the transit of farm products and reducing customs fees, while stressing the protection of local products in the two countries.

The two sides agreed to hold meetings of their Joint Agricultural Technical Committee, including the private sector.
