During a meeting held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, the Cabinet endorsed on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, the amended system of regulation of fireworks for 2019.

The system aims at increasing the effective control on institutions and companies licensed to trade, import, possess or deal with fireworks.

According to the system, licensees must re-export the fireworks within a period not more than 60 days from the date they are notified about the decision if the fireworks do not conform to the import approval system, exceed the quantity approved to enter the country or if a single container contained fireworks that have been approved to be imported and the ones that have not.

If the period set has expired before the fireworks being re-exported, fireworks shall be wasted in the manner specified by the system.
