The Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Issa Gammoh said on Monday, April 8, 2019, that there was a significant increase during the first quarter of 2019 in the number of tourists coming to the Kingdom, especially from Europe, praising the role of the Tourism Promotion Board in promoting Jordan which is rich in all types of tourism externally and internally.
Gammoh noted to the Ministry's plans to stimulate internal tourism under the modest budget, which constitutes 90% of the Kingdom's tourism revenues.
When talked about the current tourist season, Gammoh stated that the Ministry is expecting a distinguished tourist season in terms of external tourism and the impact of low-cost flights on its recovery.
Gammoh pointed out to the Ministry's support for Jordanians and its programs, which bear 40% of the cost of the citizen's visit to some tourist facilities.
