The Ministry of Water and Irrigation warned on Sunday, March 17, 2019, citizens living near the King Talal Dam in northern Jordan that it is necessary to stay away from the area amid expectations of impending flooding of the dam within an hour.

Ministry spokesman Omar Salama said the dam is expected to flood after reaching its full capacity of 75 million cubic meters.

Salama called on all citizens to take care and to stay away from the dam, stressing that all measures have been taken in cooperation with the concerned authorities to prevent any issues that may occur in case it floods.
