Amman Mayor Dr. Yousef Al-Shawarbeh revealed that names of martyrs of the homeland will be assigned to the streets of the capital.

Al-Shawarbeh said during a celebration organized by the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) on Saturday at the Habbis al-Majali Museum commemorating the Battle of Karameh, women’s day, and mother’s day, to honor a number of martyrs of the homeland in the Battle of Karameh and other incidents and events of defending the homeland and protecting its stability.

 

The Battle of Karameh was a 15-hour military engagement between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and combined forces of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) in the Jordanian town of Karameh on 21 March 1968, during the War of Attrition.
