The lights of the Eiffel Tower were turned off on Friday, 15 March, in tribute to the victims of two mosque terrorist attacks in Christchurch, New Zealand that left at least 50 people dead.

The official Tower account published on Twitter that the lights will be turned off to pay tribute to the Christchurch victims.

It is noteworthy that New Zealand authorities on Saturday charged the main suspect in the terrorist attack on two mosques with murder.
