Ajloun

Many areas in Ajloun governorate in the north of Jordan are witnessing heavy rainfall which formed waterbodies in different places causing roadblocks.

The pictures show the gathering of the rainwater in relatively large ponds in Ibbin, Sakhra, and Ibillinin in Ajloun Governorate.

Raed Al Shurman, Director of Ajloun Agriculture, said that the amount of rain since yesterday caused ponds and floods in different areas of the governorate.

Jordan Valley

The Secretary-General of the Jordan Valley, Ali Al Kuz, warned farmers and citizens from going near valleys and low areas, particularly Jordan and Yarmouk River. He added that floods are expected in these areas due to the heavy rainfall.

He appealed to all security bodies and municipalities to take precautions in order to prevent citizens from approaching these areas.

Al Jofa

Landslides occurred in Al Jofa in Amman after heavy rainfall hit the area Thursday morning.

The collapse resulted in road closures and severe damage to vehicles parked near the area.

The Director of Reconstruction Control at the Municipality of Amman, Yousef Al Dalabeeh, said that one of the houses in Al Jofa area was evacuated due to a collapse caused by the heavy rainfall.

He added that a public safety committee has been formed and the road has been closed in order to take the appropriate measures.
