Generations For Peace was named the number-29 non- governmental organisation on NGO Advisor’s increasingly competitive list of “Top 500 NGOs in the World,” rising from its position of #30 in 2018. The organisation’s position in 2019 marks the fourth consecutive year that Generations For Peace has increased in the rankings and recognises significant achievement for the global peacebuilding non-profit.

Generations For Peace maintained its status as the leading Jordanian NGO and secured the position of the third-leading peacebuilding organisation in the rankings, which are measured annually based on criteria laid out by NGO Advisor, a Geneva-based independent media organisation committed to highlighting innovation, impact, and governance in the non-profit sector.

Generations For Peace is committed to empowering young people around the world to lead sustainable peacebuilding and conflict transformation at the grassroots by promoting youth leadership, community empowerment, active tolerance, and responsible citizenship. The only peace-through-sport organisation officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee, it uses programmes in sport, as well as in arts, advocacy, dialogue, and empowerment to bring about conflict transformation in communities around the globe. The organisation has trained, mentored, and supported more than 11,750 volunteers across 50 countries, touching the lives of over 592,500 children, youth, and adults through
programmes covering a range of conflict issues, from ethnic, tribal, and religious disputes to gender inequality, violence against women, and minority and disability discrimination.

Key factors determining Generations For Peace’s ranking in 2019 include its innovation in developing

those with United Nations agencies, governmental donors, and commercial partners.

GFP is ranked 29th in the “Top 500 NGOs in the World” for 2018 by NGO Advisor and is the second-highest ranked peace-building NGO in the world. It is also the number one Jordanian NGO on the list. The ranking assesses non-governmental organisations according to innovation, impact, sustainability and strong partnerships.

GFP is also the only peace-through-sport organisation officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee.
