The Cybercrimes Unit at the Public Security Department pointed out that everything published on social media that carries any abuse or violation of the law will be accountable under the Cybercrime law.

Through a recent video posted on its Facebook official page, the Cybercrime Unit stated that violators will suffer imprisonment of no less than 3 months and a fine up to 2000 JOD for those who publish or share whatever that can be described as hate speech through websites or social platforms.

The Unit stressed that according to the law, goodwill or ignorance of the law does not exempt from punishment.
