Prime Minister Omar Razzaz attributed the high cost of electricity partially to the interruption of the Egyptian gas to Jordan in 2011, pointing out that Jordan is still suffering from the effects today.

During his speech at the conference "Public-Private Sector Partnership within Initiatives of Government Action Plan”, Razzaz said that "the interruption of Egyptian gas has cost the National Electricity Company 5.5 billion dinars, and the government is still paying until today an interest of 7% to local banks.”
