Jordanian Minister of Labor Samir Murad confirmed that private sector employees whose salaries are delayed have the immediate right immediately, under the Labor Law, to lodge a complaint with the Ministry to assign an inspection team to take appropriate measures.

The Minister of Labor said in a press statement on Sunday that "no employer or establishment have the right to delay payment of wages to employees for services received, no matter the reason,” noting that the labor law punishes those who fail to pay their staff.
Minister Murad explained that "the permissible period for delaying salaries is not more than a week, and those whose salary is delayed beyond that must submit a complaint to the Ministry of Labor to take the appropriate action," adding that the economic situation of employers must not be at the expense of the employees.

Murad confirmed that the Labor Law is clear and that employees should be paid their salaries on time, noting that the law protects everyone.
