Jordanian expert and educational consultant Dr. Khalil Al-Zuiod advised parents to deal positively with their children informing them of finding relationships online, stressing that the failure or success of others’ experiences should not be a criterion for determining the future of these relationships.
Speaking during Roya’s program “Donya Ya Donya”, Zuiod talked about the mechanism of dealing with boys and girls when they have these online experiences, and advised to imagine how the relationship will turn out after ten years, for example, advising girls to resort to those they trust to give them advice.
He also spoke about the need for family awareness regarding their children’s online communications and how to deal with it, pointing out that preventing children from using social media is not a solution.
He added that there are successful marriage examples which began on social networks, while there are also models which have failed as they were based on the traditional ideas of marriage, which include mothers searching for brides for their sons online.
