Jordanian Constructions Contractors Association (JCCA) denounced the government's decision to suspend the implementation of renewable energy projects which the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources announced all of a sudden.

JCCA said in a statement to its chairman Ahmed al-Yaqoub, that the union was surprised by the government's decision to stop the implementation of renewable energy projects without the union’s notice, adding that the decision would cause serious financial and material damage to the union's contractors.

The union stressed the need to involve them before any decision affecting the rights of contractors and their contractual obligations, in the interest of the rights of Jordanian contractors affected by this decision, which would not only damage the contracting sector, but will extend to all sectors of the economy.

The union considered that the decision negatively affects the strategy of encouraging investment in the Kingdom, which is based on supporting the contracting sector as an engine sector driving the knees and endeavors of economic and social development.
