Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Nations, Bashar Jaafari, threatened to bombard the Tel Aviv airport if the UN Security Council does not intervene and stop the repeated Israeli attacks on Syria.

"Isn't it is the right time for this council to take the necessary measures to stop the repeated Israeli aggression against the territories of my country or should we attract the attention of the war makers in this council be exercising our legitimate right for self-defense and respond to the Israeli aggression against the Damascus International Airport by launching an aggression against Tel Aviv Airport?" Jaafari said at a UN Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East on Tuesday, January 23, 2019.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Foreign Ministry regularly sends letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Security Council demanding to condemn Israeli air attacks and take the necessary measures to stop them.

The official Syrian news agency SANA said on Monday that the Syrian air defense responded effectively to the Israeli attack, and prevented it from achieving any of its objectives.
