Multiple locations across the Gaza Strip were hit by Israeli airstrikes on Saturday night, 12 January, causing some of the sites bombed to catch fire, without any reported human casualties, WAFA news agency reported, citing local sources.

Some of the sites bombed included two in Gaza City, one in the town of Beit Lahiya, north of Gaza, and another site in the city of Khan Younis, south of the Strip.

Minor damages were also inflicted a location near the Martyrs Cemetery east of Gaza City, which was also targeted by Israeli fighter jets.

The IDF justified the airstrikes by claiming that they were in retaliation for Gaza firing a rocket at them, which landed in an open field in southern Israel.
