Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi revealed extensive security cooperation with Tel Aviv in fighting terrorists in Sinai.

This came in an interview with CBS, which confirmed that the Egyptian side asked them not to broadcast the interview.

When Sisi was asked whether Egypt's cooperation with Tel Aviv in the fight against terrorism in Sinai is the closest in the history of the two countries, he confirmed saying “We have a wide range of cooperation with the Israelis.”

Sisi denied that there are about 6,000 political prisoners in Egypt, adding "I don't know where they got that figure. I said there are no political prisoners in Egypt. Whenever there is a minority trying to impose their extremist ideology we have to intervene regardless of their numbers.”
