The emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has concluded its preparations to enter the Guinness Book of Records in its fireworks show on New Year's Eve.

"New Year's Eve will witness the world's longest straight line of fireworks, with performances that will be held on the banks of Al-Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah," said Al Marjan fireworks company.

The company said the current record for the world's longest straight line of fireworks is 11.83 kilometers, and Ras Al Khaimah is set to break that record with a 12-minute firework display on Monday December 31, 2018.

The past 2018 New Year’s celebrations in Ras Al Khaimah had won the emirate the title of the world's “Largest Aerial Firework Shell”, weighing 1,087.26 kg and reaching a height of around 1,127 m.
