Amman's Mayor Yousef Al Shawarbeh said that mobile food carts and trucks "are geared towards the employment of Jordanian youth and that the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) will put a tender on food carts "through various media outlets once the expected instructions are completed by the end of next month.

Shawarbeh revealed that the proposed guidelines stipulate that this project targets citizens not through companies or institutions, and will not allow more than one license per person.

He stressed that the draft guidelines are carefully studied to achieve the goal in combating unemployment and creating job opportunities for Jordanian youth, and to highlight the civilized face of the city.

Shawarbeh stressed that the tender will be the most transparent to achieve justice and inclusiveness for all citizens.
He pointed out that the conditions will include all components of the project with regard to the safety of food provided and the requirements of health and safety of the vehicle and readiness through cooperation and coordination with the General Organization for Food and Drug Administration and Vehicle Licensing Department.
