The Jordanian Income and Sales Tax Department revealed a government decision to reduce the special tax on soft drinks in the Kingdom.

The department’s spokesperson Musa Al Tarawneh said that the decision reduced the special tax on soft drinks by 5%, from 20% to 15%.

The previous government of Hani Mulki had approved at the beginning of this year to double the tax on soft drinks to reach 20% instead of 10%, which the government of Omar Razzaz decided to reduce by 5% to become 15%.
