The Director-General of the Gendarmerie, Major General Hussein Mohamed Al-Hawatma, said that Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, is capable of defending its national interests with wisdom and courage.
Al-Hawatma stressed that the gendarmerie forces are at the highest level of readiness to deal with all duties of maintaining security and strengthening the rule of law, especially during the celebrations of citizens on holidays and New Year's.
During his meeting with senior officers, leaders and a large number of gendarmerie ranks, Al-Hawatma conveyed the greetings of His Majesty the Supreme Leader to all members of the gendarmerie and His Majesty's pride in their efforts, praising the high morale of officers and personnel working in the field.
Al-Hawatma said that the gendarmerie forces are working according to a balanced security equation that aims to preserve the security of the homeland, defend its gains and protect the rights and freedoms of all national components.
Al-Hawatma directed all ranks to continue performing, and to provide the usual image of the gendarmerie as a security apparatus capable of dealing with all variables and security risks professionally.
Al-Hawatma listened to the Security Council brief of plans and actions taken by gendarmerie leaders to maintain security and strengthen the rule of law, and to provide support to the authorities and assist citizens in prevailing weather conditions.
